The numbers below do not reflect current rates which are in the 7.5% to 7.75% range as of October 2023. Primary home buyers typically pay 3% down and 2nd home buyers pay 10% to 20% down. New homes have lower insurance rates, however, add $500 to $1,000 to the number below. A conservative calculation for new home taxes would be 1.5% to 2% of the new home purchase price. New home taxes may initially only be for the lot value. They may be low the first year, but the second year they will be calculated close to the price of the new home. Many factors are considered when obtaining a loan. The calculator below will provide a sample of an estimate, the numbers cannot be relied upon.
